Hey Designers!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season! Today, I want to share some filmmaking tools I've been using over the past few months that have been incredibly helpful time and time again. These tools are apps you can easily download to your phone and start using for your next shoot!
If you haven’t tried Scriptation yet, it’s a game-changer. It makes comparing script revisions, keeping your notes organized, and collaborating with your team so much easier—and you can even transfer your notes between drafts, which has saved me so much time on set!
Another app I’ve been loving is Artemis Pro. It’s a digital viewfinder that lets you preview framing, experiment with different lenses, and test out angles, all from your phone. You can even input camera specs and shot sizes, making it super easy to plan and visualize your shots before you get on set!
Lastly, if you’re working with natural light, Sun Seeker is a must-have. It shows you the path of the sun throughout the day, so you can plan your shots around the best lighting. You can track the sun's position in real time, making it easy to work with changing light conditions and get the perfect shot every time!
Just a heads up—Scriptation is free to use, but you’ll get more features with the paid version. On the other hand, both Sun Seeker and Artemis Pro need to be purchased before you can use them. Hope this helps!
